The PHS Softball team finished the year 19-17 and were within a victory of advancing to the 5A State Tournament.  The Lady Wildcats were eliminated in Regional play by eventual State Champion, Pryor.  Postseason honors for the Lady Wildcats include having 8 players named to the 5A-4 All District Team.  Morgan Davis, Ellie Griffin, Chloe Bohuslavicky, Kenedi Morelock, Sagely McAdoo, Abby DeTar, Ashtyn McAdoo, and Hannah Owen.  The 5A/6A All Region 11 Team also included Morgan Davis and Sagely McAdoo.  

 

The PHS Volleyball team finished the year with a record of 14-16 and lost in the Regional elimination game to eventual 5A State Champion Mt. St. Mary.  The Lady Wildcats capped off the season by being named the 5A Academic State Champion.  The 9 varsity girls, whose grade point average was used to tally the cumulative, were Hannah McGarraugh, Maddie Boothe, Laureli Grothe, Riley Cooper, Taylor Abel, Brooke Spears, Hope Munzeisheimer, Lauren Stephenson, and Maggie Young.

 

The boys and girls Cross Country teams recently finished their year with both teams qualifying for the 5A State Meet.  The girls finished 13th overall and the boys finished 8th.   The boys had one individual placer, sophomore Blake Cope, who placed 4th overall.  Placing in the top 10 at the state meet also secures being named to the All State team.  The girls who qualified and competed at state were; Anna Jacobs, Sydney Lang, Kylie Burris, Jaycee Fallon, Hannah Thomas, Sydnei Storts, and Megan Wortmann.  The boys who qualified and competed at state were; Blake Cope, Garrett Bickley, Colton Lindsey, Davis McDermott, Jon Henry, Zachary Swindell, and Regan Watters.

 

The Piedmont Cheer squad placed 8th at the State Cheerleading contest that was recently held at Oklahoma State University.  Mackenzie Schwenke and Abbie Burris both earned All Region and will try out for All State on November 8th.

 

The Pride of Piedmont Marching Band recently wrapped up their marching season by finishing as the Class 5A State Runner-Up.  They placed 2nd in the categories of Music Performance, Visual Performance, and General Effect during the state contest that was held October 22 at Mustang High School.

 

The PHS Football team recently qualified for the Class 5A State Football Playoffs.  This marks the 1st appearance in school history for the team in 5A and the 1st playoff appearance for the school since 2011.  The Wildcats have a record of 6-3 on the season and a record of 5-1 in District 5A-2.  The Wildcats will go on the road in the 1st round of the playoffs to face either Lawton MacArthur or Ardmore.
