Academic Services

Piedmont Public Schools Academic Services partners with teachers, staff, students, and families to provide research-based resources and foster engaging learning environments that support academic success for all learners.

Our instruction is driven by Oklahoma Academic Standards from the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Standards-Based Report Cards (Grades PK-6)

At Piedmont Public Schools, we use standards-based grading for Pre-K through sixth grade. This helps families understand exactly what skills and concepts their child is expected to learn at each grade level. Instead of giving one overall grade, teachers break the subject into smaller, more specific learning targets. These goals show what students should be able to do or understand by the end of the course. Throughout the grading period, teachers carefully monitor student progress, provide helpful feedback, and adjust their teaching to support each student’s learning.

Standards-Based Report Card FAQs

Traditional Report Cards (Grades 7-12)

A traditional report card communicates a student's performance in different subjects. These grades are often based on a combination of factors, including test scores, homework, class participation, and teacher evaluations, summarizing a student's overall performance in a certain course.
