New-to-Piedmont Information

Through school district consolidation, Piedmont Schools grew from a two-story, four-room schoolhouse in 1905, to a district large enough to support a four-year high school in 1920. Piedmont's rapid growth has continued over the past 100 years. Our District now spans 96 square miles, encompassing the city of Piedmont and much more.

The District consists of seven individual school sites with an overall enrollment of more than 4,500 students and approximately 425 full-time employees.

We understand as a parent, your child’s educational journey is your top priority. We pride ourselves on supporting your student and their individual needs, from providing emotional support, to ensuring that our teacher-to-student ratio remains low for more individualized attention. Inside the classroom, we ensure our teachers have the tools they need to be successful, creating happier teachers who are excited to come to work each day. Outside the classroom, we provide a wide array of extracurricular activities including sports, clubs, concurrent enrollment, career tech, internship opportunities, and more for our secondary students and “specials” like art, STEM class, physical education, and music for our Early Childhood and Elementary Wildcats.

We rank in the top public schools in the state of Oklahoma for test scores, attendance rates, and graduation rates, and Piedmont students consistently score above the state average on the ACT.

Although the school day is the same length for all students at Piedmont Public Schools, start and end times vary by grade level.

Early Childhood Center (Grades PK-K): 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Elementary (Grades 1-4): 8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Intermediate (Grades 5-6): 7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
Middle School (Grades 7-8): 7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.
High School (Grades 9 -12): 7:50 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.

Take a look at our district boundaries/attendance zones map to see if your home falls within our District boundaries. The zones are defined by different colors, which determine the elementary school your child will attend if you live in that zone. If you have questions about a specific address or new development, please contact us at 405-373-2311.

Piedmont Early Childhood Center students are required to register before the school year begins. An email will be sent to Piedmont ECC families in May for students to register to ride the bus. If your family is joining us after the start of the year, please let the ECC know that you would like your student to ride the bus so we can make arrangements for you.
 
If your student attends Stone Ridge Elementary, Northwood Elementary, Piedmont Elementary, Piedmont Intermediate, Middle School of Piedmont, or Piedmont High School, you can locate your bus stop on Infofinder i. If a bus stop is not populating for your address or your students' pick up/drop off times, please contact the Piedmont Schools Transportation Department at 405-373-2311, or contact the school your child attends for assistance.
