The Gold Standard Internship Program

At Piedmont Public Schools, we believe our students deserve opportunities that will propel them to success after graduation. The Gold Standard Internship Program allows students to gain experience in a career field of interest while creating valuable business relationships that will last a lifetime. 

If interested, Piedmont Seniors should request an application for The Gold Standard Internship Program at schedule pick-up. These opportunities could lead to a paid position after graduation.

ELECTIVE REPLACEMENT

If selected for an internship, students electives classes will be replaced with an internship opportunity. Their work hours will be part of the student's school day (2-3 hours of their schedule)


TIME REQUIREMENT

This program will be for one semester, with the possibility of continuing for the full year based on the student’s evaluation.


EVALUATION AND GRADES

Grades will be awarded based on an evaluation from your business partner, which will include: punctuality, work ethic, responsibility, courtesy, and honesty.


COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS

We are grateful for our incredible community that supports our students and their career growth. The following community partners have agreed to collaborate with us for The Gold Standard Internship Program:


F&M Bank This program will allow high school students to gain meaningful, real-world experience in entry level areas of banking: Teller, Universal Banker, Branch Manager and Customer Care. Daily intern duties will include performing Teller duties, performing CSR duties including opening new accounts, performing Branch Manager duties and customer care. Interns will also attend in-house and customer meetings with personnel.

405 Vet Animal Hospital Students who shadow at 405 Vet Animal Hospital will get to observe the daily operations of a small animal general practice. Students will observe the practice of preventive medicine, disease treatment, surgery and end of life care. 405 Vet is also a boarding and grooming facility so students will help care for animals at the clinic. Students may be asked to clean, walk dogs, or restrain animals. Students will receive exposure to Kennel Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Registered Veterinary nurses, Administrative Assistants and Veterinarians, and will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Great Plains Bank
This program will allow high school students to experience all areas of entry level banking from teller responsibilities to managing a bank branch. Daily intern duties will include performing Teller duties, performing CSR duties including opening new accounts, performing Branch Manager duties and providing customer care.
Faith Church
As a Faith Church intern you will grow in your relational skills, develop your gifts, and gain real life experience that you can use in any field you pursue. You will also have a lot of fun and work with great people!  Areas of concentration include but are not limited to Creative Arts, Church Administration and Next Generation. You will learn learn adobe suite skills, video production, creative planning, general business skills, caring for people, helping with office work, creating plans for kids & students to grow, and people administration.

Bronson Schubert State Farm Insurance Agency We are excited to offer you the opportunity of an internship with the Bronson Schubert State Farm Insurance Agency! This is a great opportunity for you to learn about marketing, business, insurance, and financial services. During this internship you will not only gain knowledge in these areas but you will have hands on experience in calling prospects, working community events, mailing marketing materials, and working side by side with licensed insurance agents.  

Piedmont Childcare Center As a PCC intern you will work with children ages 1 through 4. Performance responsibilities will include: Supervise and provide activities for infants and/or children, work directly with infants and/or children in the program, work together with other childcare center staff to meet the needs of all children, exhibit a positive attitude and public relations skills, and maintain physical environment of classroom, ensuring safety and security.

Robyn Promotions

From creative development to product sourcing, research, production, inventory, Kitting, e-commerce and distribution, Robyn has worked with a wide range of industries to create and manage their branded products. Interns will work through various departments within the company to learn more about advertising, accounting, marketing and long range business planning.
